API reference
Australian utility outages — every distributor in one normalised shape, live and archived. The API plan: 49.00 AUD a month including GST, with 2,000 calls, then 0.01 a call, on the account's card. Up to 500 outages a page, 31 days at a time; bulk exports by request. Not an official source: confirm with the network before acting on it, and never for life support decisions.
Generated from the server’s own OpenAPI document, Aussie Outage Tracker API version 1.0.0: 9 endpoints in 6 groups. Every parameter and field below is the one the server validates and sends.
Base URL
https://api.aussieoutagetracker.com.auEvery request is a GET over HTTPS, and every response is JSON: snake_case fields, ISO 8601 instants in UTC, and null for anything a network did not publish — never 0, never an empty string.
Authentication
An API key from Settings › API in the dashboard, sent as Authorization: Bearer aot_live_…. Authentication covers the header forms and what a refused key looks like.
Billing and limits
A key works while its account has the API plan, and every request answered with a 2xx counts as a call. The API plan is $49.00 AUD a month including GST, with 2,000 calls each month, then $10.00 AUD per 1,000 beyond them, a cent a call. Each key may make 60 requests a minute, and a list returns up to 500 outages a page from at most 31 days of the archive per query. Endpoints marked Free are never billed. Billing and usage has the detail.
Status
GET /v1/status says whether the API is up, how fresh the data is, and for each network whether its feed can be read and whether what it sends passes our checks. It needs no key and is never billed, so a status page or a monitor can poll it.
